Description
This image was created using VUE 2014 Complete and comprises of 1.612 billion polygons @ 22 hour 57 minutes render time.
This scene was relatively simple to put together, a few metablobs formed the riverbed and shore line whilst the rest is a block for the tree ecosystem to grow on. Then there are a few metaclouds to form the very light mist!
The reason for the high polygon counts is largely due to the grass type that I used which is the Alpine Black Sledge available on cornucupia .
The scene was rendered alongside a depth map so that I could use Photoshop to provide a subtle lens blur effect. Photoshop was also used for typical colour balancing and vibrancy toning.
Recently I've been having a lot of trouble trying to replicate other artists 2D works with using the Vue system, trying to achieve approximate results is going all right but trying to get the right feel within my reproduction isn't getting there. I understand that there can be a lot of post production within final images and this is where my abilities begin to suffer. I don't have that much experience with post production techniques so I've decided to try and follow post production tutorials that are strewn around the interwebs and hopefully I'll start to pick up better results as I go
Thanks for viewing, all constructive criticisms welcome!
